The Coast In Barcelona
Since the olympic games in 1992 sparked a rejuvenation of Barcelona’s beaches, their number has grown from one to seven. They’re situated along a 5km stretch of the city’s coastline, from North to South. Manned by lifeguards from June to September, they cater for a rising number of visitors and can be accessed in only 20 mins from the city centre.
More than 3.5million travellers now visit the beaches every year. The city’s council is continually improving services, creating a cleaner and safer place. Part of this mission has included the creation of the Barcelona Beach Center. Here you can partake of numerous free exhibitions and activities or just relax with the day’s paperspapers.
The Olympic Stadium Of Barcelona
With the huge urban operation that the world Exposition of Barcelona 1929 represented, the Council made a decision to build a great sporting location for the city which would add weight in convincing the world Olympic Committee and, in particular, Baron Pierre de Coubertin that Barcelona aimed to organise, with well founded desires, the Olympics. So the Stadium of Montjuic was born. After years of neglect and reject the stadium was redecorated to become the center of the Olympics in 1992. Thousands of athletes from each part of the World landed in the Aeroport Barcelone and provided a massive show in the Olympic Stadium.

Park de la Ciutadella
Built in the second half the 19th century, Parc de la Ciutadella is one of the key green spaces in the city of Oh-Barcelona. For a number of years it was actually the just one in the town and one of the first to be designed especially to be used as a public park. In 1951 it was declared a monument of historical and inventive interest and is now thought to be an open-air museum, given the profusion and quality of its sculptures by Frederic Mars, Eusebi Arnau, Josep Clar, Josep Llimona, Pau Gargallo, Manuel Fux and others.
