The third wonder on the list is the Great Barrier Reef located off the coast of Australia in the Coral Sea. As the largest reef system on the planet, stretching over 1,600 miles and comprised of over 2,900 individual reefs, it can actually be seen from space.
Forth on our list of new wonders is located in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The Art Deco statue of Christ the Redeemer towers 130 feet height and 100 feet wide and looks down on the city of Rio. It is located at the top of Mount Corcovado which reaches a height of 2,300 feet. This statue of Christ is known to be the largest Art Deco statue in the world.
Mount Everest is a tower number five and is known to be the highest location on the face of the earth. Reaching 29,002 feet, a family vacation to this location would consist of a breathing view from the summit but to the experienced mountain climber, it presents a challenge of a lifetime.
The sixth wonder is not really a place but a visual experience. Viewed from the northern most points on the globe, the Aurora or Northern Lights attract many to the northern regions of Canada for the spectacular heavenward show of the dancing lights.
